Parents send their children to school with high hopes of their learning success. How educators teach and interact with their students and parents sets the stage for that success. In this age of rapid change and accountability, developing supportive home/school collaboration is crucial to student success. This workshop series is designed to help educators to facilitate that collaboration. This three-day series is designed to teach K-8 teachers and administrators how to maximize student learning by including parents and families as an integral part of their classroom instruction. Participants will discover practical and easy-to-use ways to communicate with parents on an ongoing basis. They will learn how to identify and share each student's learning styles, achievement expectations and classroom behaviors. The presenter will share strategies and techniques designed to: build community, communicate effectively, conduct effective meetings, share brain compatible learning strategies, identify learning styles, create optimum learning environments, and develop the root skills of learning.
